Privacy and data use

The free tools

The calculator, Excel sheet, kraft rates and ply guide run entirely in your browser. The numbers you type are not sent to us. The calculator remembers your last box in your own browser so the Excel page can fill it in; clearing your browser data removes it.

The Excel file is created on your device. We don't receive a copy.

When you report a kraft rate

The "What did you pay this week?" form on the kraft rates page is anonymous. We store the grade, region, rate and date. To stop the same person sending many reports, we also keep a scrambled code made from your IP address that changes every day and is deleted after 24 hours. We use that code only to limit repeat reports. We don't store your IP address itself, or your name, phone number or email.

Reports are shown only as a median of several reports, never one by one.

When you email us

Buttons marked with an envelope open an email to us with a message already written. Nothing is sent until you press send. If you do, we receive your email address, name and whatever is in the email. The short code in the subject (like #kraft) only tells us which page you came from.

We use your email address only for what you asked for: a reply, the weekly kraft rate, or sheet updates. Reply "stop" at any time and we stop.

Sending a quote on WhatsApp

"Send as quote" opens WhatsApp so you can send the quote to one of your own contacts. It goes to the person you pick, not to us.

Analytics

We count page visits and actions like calculator use and Excel downloads with Umami, a cookie-free analytics tool, so we know which tools are useful. It doesn't set cookies or record what you type into the tools. We don't use advertising trackers.
